Government Resume Experience Tips

I had talked about how to write a resume and so in. You can look at jobs and opportunities here http://anaximanderdirectory.com/jobs-opportunities/12.html. That you use the job announcement you're looking for to use. That information in order to write your the best resume. You can for this position every resume should be written to the job. That you're applying to. Because the qualifications are different and so general experience may not qualify.

You don't explain. It properly so I'm going to show. You through. This job announcement. Where to pull the information. You need in order to apply correctly and have the highest chance of being considered so let's get started so far I've already got onto the USAJOBS website and I just found a random job announcement and I made sure to get. That had multiple grades so. That you could see. How the the specialized experience and things can be different in one position. Because in a multiple grade position. What they would call a career ladder would be at the lower grades. You would have less responsibilities and higher supervision.

You would at the high grade then. You have more responsibilities less supervision so we're gonna scroll down to the sections. That matter so first thing is the summary of the position you're gonna want to understand. What you're applying to before. Even get started then the main sections to consider are the requirements so. You may or may not have to take a drug test. It may be required. If you're a male. You have to be a Selective Service registered. You may have to serve a probationary period depending on whether. You already work for the government or not background check same thing and online onboarding which is a new thing where.

All your processing is electronic and all the forms are in a in a portal through a website and you go in and complete those documents so. These are things. That you're gonna be rated against Sochaux a commitment to the VA customer service communication skills and enter. These are all still just abstract things. This qualifications section that's what you're looking for so. You already work in the government and you're eligible to apply then. You have to meet the time and grade requirement and the time and grade should be spelled out here which is 52 weeks at the next lower grade. This position is a to grade interval position so next lower grade is actually two grades less so. It explains. It right here so. You don't even have to guess.

Because there are. One great interval positions and there's two grade so for a seven you'd have to be a five for a year for a nine. You have to be a seven for a year for an eleven. You have to be a nine for a year and for a twelve. You have to be an eleven for a year. You get past the eleven it's all one grade so. One grade to the twelve then potentially. One grade to the third or one year to the thirteen and so on then. This is where. It really gets important so. You meet this area or this time and grade requirement the specialized experience is the. Most important part. Because this is where.

You don't have. This information somewhere in your resume then. You will not be qualified so just like in the last video. You must have the month year month year and full or part-time for your experience block but then within. That block you have to have at least. Some of this kind of experience in there or you won't be qualified so. This is an example and it would typically include but not limited to and you're gonna look at this kind of stuff so you're gonna have to have experience doing completing assignments and individually or as a team it's more generic and so at these lower grades they're a little.

More flexible. You can substitute education for experience. If it's specified in the job announcement otherwise. You won't be able to so in this case. One full year of graduate education and at the seven and they also left out superior academic achievement but but that's a bachelor's degree in a related field with a GPA that's above 30 excuse. Me so then the GS nine you'll see the duties are a little bit. More specific so here. We go examples are complete assignments similar to. That then you get. More HR laws policies knowledge of recruitment placement principles assisting other specialists and using USA staffing and HR smart so again gets.

More and more detailed education as a substitute. Now as a master's degree at the eleven it's three years or a doctorate for education substitute you'll see again the duties just get. More and more detailed and then at the twelve which is the. What you would call the full performance of this position. It is very detailed. You can see. That the block is nearly double of what the rest of them are and so that's how. You would need to structure your resume. You would have to have. These specialized experience information in your job and out or in your resume or else you're not going to qualify for this job announcement we're not using keyword searching but.

You need to have related experience to. This then in order to complete the packet again. If you're gonna use a degree to substitute. You absolutely have to include your transcript and it must have a conferral date on it then. You get your required documents in this case it's just the resume and the sf50 the sf50 is how. You prove that you're a current federal employee. If that's a requirement of the position it's left off here but. It would also be required. That you include your transcript.

If you're you know using education to qualify just as mentioned above and so. This explanation helped understand. What you're gonna have to have in your resume in order to qualify for a particular position. That way you know you're not you're not just submitting a generic resume and wondering why you're not getting hired. It has to be specific to the job you're you're applying to so anyhow hope. This helped and thanks for watching.
